Greetings fellow art lovers and wanderers of the internet. This blog is meant to document the details of my art practice as well as give a little more background to some of the adventures that inspire much of my work. There's sure to be a little bit of everything, but hopefully all of it is both entertaining and educational.
I'll start with the art show currently on at the Northeastern Nevada Museum here in Elko. The show features art from members of the Elko County Art Club and is well worth a visit if you're passing through on I-80 or staying in the Elko area. The museum itself features several art galleries, numerous mounted animals and displays that describe the history of the local area.
Elko itself was founded in 1868 and sits along the Humboldt River and the historic California Trail. Northeastern Nevada as a whole in one of the most remote parts of the state and offers numerous outdoor activities including hiking, fishing and backpacking. The Ruby Mountains, Lamoille Canyon, South Fork State Recreation Area and Wild Horse State Recreation Area are all within an hour drive.
I'll explore more about some of these areas down the road.
For now, enjoy the spring weather if you're lucky enough to have it and check back soon for more updates.
